Brighten your smile, build your confidence!
We enjoy treating our patients and make it a priority to accommodate their friends and family as we have found that they also appreciate the value of healthy teeth and gums and a great smile, just as our existing patients do.
As a dental team, we also get a buzz out of the excited and appreciative comments from the patients about the lovely healthy smiles we have created for them.
What happens after you come into our practice?
Our friendly team makes you comfortable right after you come in. Sue and Sheryl will welcome you to the practice and ask you to complete our quick patient registration procedures. We provide the latest magazines in our reception area, although your waiting time is usually very short before going into the treatment room. We plan our days carefully so that you don’t need to spend unnecessary time away from your office or home. We know our patients appreciate this greatly.
Inside the dentist’s office
Your treatment coordinator, Olga, will take you through to the treatment room and explain everything you need to know.
All the staff are very well informed about all things dental so you can ask them any questions. We welcome you to share any previous experiences that may have impacted on you, so that we can make sure we avoid these during your treatment.
We know about the experiences many New Zealanders have had in the past with dental treatments at school. Soon you will notice that a visit to the dentist is quite different nowadays, and many of our patients assure us we have restored their trust in dentistry with our gentle and caring approach.
Dr. Yuri will then join you to talk a bit about your previous dental history, any health issues and what dental concerns brought you to visit us today. As part of our comprehensive examination we will take some dental X-ray images and do a full clinical examination of your mouth and teeth.
Soothing your fears
At Bethlehem Dental Centre, we understand that you may find dentistry stressful, so our whole philosophy is geared towards making your dental experience as pleasant as possible. It is very common for people who are afraid to put off seeking care. Often, those are the patients who are most in need of treatment.
We try our best to make your treatment as pain-free as possible. A significant aspect of this pain-free dentistry is our approach. We listen to you and before we start any procedure, we establish that if you feel any discomfort, you should tell us right away. All you need to do is raise your hand – even if it’s just for a rest or a rinse. Both the nurse and dentist will be observing you throughout the procedure and will act to reassure or comfort you whenever necessary.
Pain is a very personal thing and is experienced differently by everyone. That is why our approach is so personalised: we put you in control. A lack of this kind of control can be central to your perception or experience of pain, so we ensure that as much as possible, you always feel that you are in control.
Sometimes, patients are embarrassed and reluctant to discuss their problems. The dentists and staff at Bethlehem Dental Centre are sensitive to those issues and during treatment strive to build your confidence and lower your stress. We know that many people suffer some degree of dental phobia, so we provide a caring, comforting environment. We strive to alleviate fear and work with you to keep your teeth and mouth healthy, and looking good for life.
We appreciate that cost is a consideration for all of us, so we aim to make your dental investment as pain-free as the rest of our service.
Investment in your dental health is always a wise choice, but sometimes, the unexpected happens and you may require work that you had not planned for. We always provide a comprehensive quote on work and agree on a treatment and cost schedule before we begin any major treatment.
We live in the real-world and are always willing to talk about the timing of treatment so that it matches your financial plans.
We are looking forward to meeting you and helping you achieve lasting dental health.
